Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is the main international airport of Israel and the busiest airport in the country. It is located on the northern outskirts of the city of Lod, about 45 km (28 mi) northwest of Jerusalem and 20 km (12 mi) to the southeast of Tel Aviv. The airport is named in honor of Israel's first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion and is a major hub for El Al, Israir Airlines, Arkia, and Sun D'Or.
