- ABOUT THE ITEM -
U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke Class (DDG) is a class of destroyers operated by the United States Navy. The Arleigh Burke class is built exclusively around the Aegis Combat System and is the primary surface combatant of the U.S. Navy. The class was named after Admiral Arleigh Burke and American destroyer officer during World War II. Arleigh Burke class ships are multi-purpose, multi-mission vessels designed for land strike roles using Tomahawk missiles, Anti-aircraft warfare, Anti-submarine warfare and Anti-ballistic missile defense. The first ship in the class was commissioned on July 4th 1991 with 67 vessels built and active to date out of 82 planned.
